Strategy Writeup

Sephiroth is weak to lightning. Use lightning spells to maximize your damage.

In the first part of the fight you will only play as Cloud. Use your block and wait for his combo to finish, then strike him back. If you keep pressuring him he will become staggered giving you the opportunity to deal a lot of damage. Make sure to block all of his attacks.

On the second part of the fight Aerith will join. It's best to keep using Cloud as you can easily parry his attacks and provide support with Aerith. Use spells to deal damage or heal you.

On the third part Tifa will join. Now you can use Tifa and Cloud to keep the pressure on Sephiroth and use Aerith to heal both of them.

The order the characters join is based on their affection. For me it was Tifa, then Barret. Be careful of this because if your healer doesn't turn up, you're in trouble.
